Blue Whale Materials is an American recycling company working toward a greener and more sustainable global battery supply chain. It is building a lithium-ion battery recycling facility, producing an ethically sourced stream of cobalt, nickel, manganese, and lithium in the first stage of a closed-loop solution for lithium-ion battery manufacturers.
We are seeking a talented and motivated person to join us, as Blue Whale Materials grows internationally and commercializes state-of-the-art technology.

Job Summary:
The Business Development and Government Relations Manager plays a key role in executing marketing programs, acquiring and managing key customer accounts, coordinating industry events, and working with state, federal, and international policy makers and industry partners to implement new strategies and action plans aimed at business development and growth. The Business Development and Government Relations Manager will also support BWM’s public policy objectives at the federal, state, and international levels by fostering relationships and participating in key trade associations and other events.
Primary Responsibilities:
Work closely with the leadership team to further BWM’s priorities and program
Establish relationships with public policy makers, existing and potential partners, and customers
Understand government’s, partners’ and customers’ program in detail and align our resource to the right program and priorities
Manage timeline and expectation of business development projects
Hold scheduled meetings with leadership team to discuss development and future projects
Assist BWM’s business development team in the production of marketing collateral including corporate website, presentations, flyers, and other materials as needed
Coordinate the planning and execution of events, conferences, and tradeshows, including booth exhibits, future branding activations and presentation materials
Represent the BWM brand as a brand ambassador in-person, where applicable
Assist business development and corporate team in measuring and evaluating event outcomes and ROI
Develop and draft presentations for business development, investor relations and corporate development
Draft analysis and reports on pertinent legislation, regulations and government programs impacting BWM
Assist in drafting and managing social media posts, press releases, and marketing efforts to build awareness about BWM’s offerings and market position
Desired Qualifications
Team Player able to deliver high quality output in a fast evolving and dynamic operations environment
University degree in marketing, advertising, business administration, or equivalent
5 years of direct work experience in a startup, business development or government relations working on policy issues with local, state, or federal government or public interest groups
Incumbent must have strong marketing, PR, and communication skills
Experience in executing events, such as trade shows, conferences, exhibits, etc.
Understanding and familiarity with brand building and brand management
Knowledge of ethical marketing best practices and associated regulations
Highly effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills to meet deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proactive self-starter with an 'owner's mindset', will require minimal direct supervision
Consistently delivers quality work on time, with strong attention to detail
Strong analytical, negotiation, and creative problem-solving skills
Exceptional oral communications, writing, and editing skills
Maintains strict confidentiality and discretion with respect sensitive information
